The goal of the U.S. Department of Energy/National Energy Technology Laboratory carbon sequestration program is to develop technologies to capture, purify and store carbon dioxide in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. DOE/NETL has formed regional partnerships with participation from government and industry entities. These partnerships are tasked with determining the most suitable technologies, regulations, and infrastructure needs for carbon capture, storage, and sequestration in different areas of the country. .
AGRC builds and maintains the GIS databases for 2 carbon sequestration partnerships, WESTCARB, and Southwest. We also serve interactive maps that make this data viewable online.
