SWUG Website

This ESRI Conference -- well-attended by professionals and students from 5 states -- has ESRI-led technical workshops, pre-conference discounted training, and some compelling keynote speakers.
• Barbara Buttenfield, Ph.D. is Professor at the University of Colorado and Director of the Meridian Lab, a research facility focusing on visualization and modeling of geographic information and technology. Her research interests focus on generalization, representations of uncertainty, and design of visualization tools for environmental modeling.
• Dr. Joseph K. Berry is a leading consultant and educator in the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and serves as Principal of Berry & Associates // Spatial Information Systems (Basis). He also writes the monthly column "Beyond Mapping" for GIS World.
• Bernie Szukalski, senior product manager at ESRI and also a plenary speaker at the ESRI International Conference this year, has a background in environmental consulting and biomedical research and focuses on ways to broaden access to GIS data and capabilities.

Early registration for professionals and students ends on August 15! This is your last chance to get the discounted rate! After that, the prices go up to $300 and $75 respectively, so don't delay!

It's not all about learning -- there will be fun, too! From hobnobbing at the galleries at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center to watching tortillas cooked on authentic hornos at the El Pueblo fort -- you will get a bit of respite and relaxation. Don't like organized events? Then rent a bike or kayak or go on a hike (after the workshops of course!) and enjoy the scenery and sun.
