  • 2. “A Link to History” Dave Morrison, University of Utah Marriott Library
    - The Marriot Library is looking for a way to digitally access the many pictures, maps, and government          documents that have archived at the library.
    - They would like to build an application that would allow a person to select a geographical area and the  documents that are associated with the area would be selected.
    - They would like to find some way to geographically referenced the documents
    - There has begun to be an awareness of the importance this kind of geographical referencing to the  documents that are stored in the Marriott Library archives
    - The Library is looking for an interactive map where the client can select an area could be selected and then  there would be a list of the documents that were related to that area
    - The Library would like it simple so the clients do not have to be GIS savvy
    - The documents would include maps from dissertations, and thesis
    - It would be an institutional repository for digital information
    - It would be repository for retention promotional material for faculty
    - Ken Rockwell has talked to BYU, looking at the spatial application for geographically associating  documents.

  • 3. Business Plan for the Strategic Plan – Statewide online inventory of geospatial data resources –one of the  top 10 priority activities of this plan
    - Partner with the Marriott Library to develop the index.

          ·  AGRC was awarded a CAP grant this year to work with the Transportation Data Model. These are objectives of this grant
o  Build a Utah Inter-Governmental GIS-T Workgroup to plan and coordinate the implementation of Utah's  statewide transportation database.
o  Refine the Utah Transpiration Data Model (UTDM) to better meet a variety of needs.
o  Defining a set of tiered transportation data exchange options ranging from file-based ETL, to database  replication, to centralized data editing that will allow data sharing partners to contribute to the statewide data layer at a technical level that matches their resources.
o  Develop a standard UTDM partner agreement to establish expectations of all parties involved including exchange method, standards agreement, frequency, and quality assurance mechanisms.
                       ·   Initiate a GIS transportation working group consisting of UDOT, AGRC, County transportation   departments and Federal transportation agencies.
                       ·   This group would develop a business plan to work within the Utah Strategic Plan.
                       ·    Develop partnership standards
