Currently, through the GIS Portal, AGRC provides indexing and listing of the data sets in the SGID and linkages to the metadata for individual data sets.
While a variety of web-page based indexes (e.g., “by name”, “by category ”) present static lists of what is available, there is neither a capability to register new data sets, nor to query for available data.
This business plan lays out a plan of action for developing truer "upload" functionality for the SGID that will allow the Utah GIS Community to contribute to the database in a more horizontal, distributed, and expedited manner.
