I am looking for post office data for my area, Austin TX. Can you tell me whether you were able to get your post office data from the Postal Service or did you have to create it yourself.
The postal service Address Information System (AIS) database is probably the best source for this information although you have to put a couple of data elements together and you also need to geocode the addresses. Not sure what the going rate is but it's pretty useful stuff.
We also used GNIS and a bit of manual enhancement.
