If you have ArcGIS 9.3, TaxAreas2008 is now available through an SDE connection to SGID.Economy.TaxAreas2008. If you need it in shapfile format, reply to this post and I'll get it for you Tuesday.

I tried connecting to the Spatial Database and received the following: "Failed to connect to the specified server. Operation Failed." Please advise. and to answer your question. Yes, I do need the data in a shapefile format.

Sorry about the server 9.3 server connection not working for you, it should be open to the outside world now if you would like to give it another try. Once connected you should be able export any layer you want to shapefile.
