The SGID ImageServer now provides 1:24K and 1:100K USGS topographic maps with a background hillshade. The background hillshade together with the topo map contours should make it easier to visualize terrain. The layers, found with the Scanned Maps folder, are named:
Scanned Maps > USGS Topographic_24K_Shaded
Scanned Maps > USGS Topographic_100K_Shaded

These hybrid layers are dynamically created by the ImageServer application from the existing topographic map and hillshade image service layers. Currently they use a hillshade created from 5 meter (pixel size) elevation data collected during the 2006 aerial aquisition project. Since the results are not cached, they take a little longer to render than other Image Server layers.

Your image server is a great resource. But--I am having issues with your scanned geologic maps. The layer loads in ArcMap 9.2 but doesn't display. Are there any reported issues with this layer?
