AGRC has National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) natural color aerial photography for many of the agricultural areas of Utah in 2-meter resolution for 2003 and 1-meter resolution for 2004 and 2006. The 2006 NAIP is a statewide coverage. The images are grouped together by county. They can be downloaded as a .zip file. The .zip file contains a compressed .sid Mr.Sid image. When adding the image to a View or Data Frame, add the .sid file and not the associated bands. The year the photography was flown is in the 2003 and 2004 imagery metadata under "Time_Period_Information:". For the 2006 imagery the NAIP2006_Index shapefile contains the date the image was flown. The images have a UTM NAD83 meters projection.TFW worldfiles need to be downloaded from the FTP site.
When downloading NAIP images from the FTP site, you will need to download the .zip file associated with a county area of interest (ie. NAIP2004_Boxe.zip is Box Elder County 2004 NAIP). With Internet Explorer right click on the file and chose "Copy To Folder". In Netscape either hold the shift key down and click the file or right click the file and chose "Save Link Target As...". The Mr.Sid mosaic files range in size from 40MB to 300MB for 2003 and 2004 at a 50:1 compression but the 2006 imagery utilized a 15:1 compression resulting in counties from 700MB to 6GB with exceptional image quality.
