The Events Calendar displays events and opportunities organized by the GIS portals partners (AGRC, UGIC, and GISAC) as well as events organized by others that are free, open to the Utah GIS community, and are not sales pitches. Registered users can post events to this calendar that meet these criteria but must include at a minimum the event name, description, scheduled time, location, and contact information.

The Utah GIS Weblog is a webblog-style, chronological listing of content posted to GIS Portal. For one stop shopping for the latest content this is where to look, but the same content is also found elsewhere on the site organized into logical sections and categories. 

The Newsfeeds section will allow the GIS portal to reference RSS (Really Simple Syndication) newsfeeds from related web site and/or web blogs that pertain to GIS in Utah. Currently this section references the old sgidinfo.utah.gov weblog for demonstration purposed only.
