Updated 3/13/08: The boundaries for Utah County municipalities were updated today with improved data from the Utah County GIS Department to reflect boundaries as of 12/31/07. SDE, shapefiles, and file-based geodatabase products have all been updated.
The SGID's U024.Municipalities layer (found in the U024.Administration feature dataset) has been updated with boundary changes received by the Utah State Tax Commission through the end of the 2007 calendar year.
If you have any questions regarding this boundary layer or have suggestions or data contributions for improving this layer, contact Bob Nagel (

The U024.Municipalities layer has been updated to bring it up to the federal Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) standard that is soon expected to be the ANSI standard for both city names and numeric city codes. Edits have been made to:
Add a field called GNIS and assign values to that field representing the 7 digit numeric GNIS ID number for each municipality. And,
Change, where needed, the municipalities' NAME field value to reflect the official GNIS populated place name for each municipality. Changes made to the NAME Field are as follows:
Several small edits have been made to the SGID.U024.ZipCodes layer to correct zip codes polygons in the South Jordan area. The updated data is now on the SGID SDE database server and is available in shapefiles and file-based geodatabases via the Vector Data or via the SGID ftp site.
The SGID.U024.Municipalities feature class has been updated on the SGID ArcSDE database server to include the boundary of the newly incorporated Bryce Canyon City in Garfield County, which was provided by the State Tax Commission’s Property Tax Division.
The shapefile and file-based geodatabase products on the agrc ftp site have also been updated.
