County Boundary Layer Updates PDF Print E-mail

Written by AGRC Administrator,

The latest County Boundaries are available via the SGID/SDE Database Server hosted by AGRC. Other data layers which have been recently updated include; Tax Entities, Tax Areas, School Districts and Municipal Boundaries. Updates have also been made to the AGRC ftp site.

IMPORTANT, Please read….

Two field in CountyBoundaries will soon be deleted they are POP2000 and POP2005EST. The data in these fields will still be available under the new fields POP_LASTCENSUS and POP_CURRESTIMATE.

This weekend, schema changes and data updates were made to the SGID’s SDE Data Server’s U024.Administration feature dataset. These changes effect Municipailities, County Boundaries, School Disticts, Taxing Areas and Taxing Entities. Changes were made to update and expand data contents and to organize the data so that future updates would require less maintenance for those users and services that depend on this data.

From this weekend forward:

- The most current county boundaries feature class will be in the SGID.U024.Administration feature dataset and will be called CountyBoundaries.

- The most current incorporated city and town boundaries will be in the SGID.U024.Administration feature dataset and will be called Municipalities

- Older, outdated feature classes that describe county, municipal, and other taxing entity boundaries that change ever year are now found in theSGID.U024.AdministrationArchive feature dataset.

Other notable changes:

- Counties and municipalities now carry a field with the last census population (2000) and the last GOPB population estimate (updated every year).

- School Districts now has Fall enrollment figures for each district.

- Metadata has been updated.
