The State of Utah Land Ownership GIS data layer is now vertically integrated with the SGID currently published GCDB reference lines (November 2006).
Please review the metadata process steps for details about the integration process. During the integration, a statewide surface ownership verification was preformed, township by township., by cooperating State and Federal Agencies.

Vertical integration with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB). The GCDB is a collection of geographic information representing the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and some Non-PLSS surveys of the United States.
Water and Intermittent water surface ownership class was removed and replaced with the appropriate surface owner.
Navigable waterways were given State Sovereign Lands status (some lands may be in question).
Non-navigable waters were split in half, at an approximate center line down the riverbed, and given the owner status of the adjacent lands.
Navigable and Non-navigable waterways determination was provided by the BLM.
Parcel Designation detail was added to ownership were applicable (For example, Private or Federal Lands that are Designated as a State Wildlife Management Area or State Park)
Collarless USGS Topographic Maps at a 1:100000 scale are available for download. These maps are georeferenced in the UTM Zone 12 North, NAD83 projected coordinate system.
